It’s hard to think of yourself as a brand. But, your actions can say volumes about who you are. This “who you are” is your brand. So, without further ado… let’s break it down. Live your passion. What would you do for free? Seems like a simple question yet, it can truly be hard to figure out. No worries, once you find it, you’ll know it. Remember, you can have more than one so don’t stress if you can’t narrow it down. Be authentic. This should come … [Read more...]
What’s My Elevator Pitch?
I’m having trouble keeping up with my blog. Partly, because I don’t know why I’m doing it. The other reason? Just plain lazy I suppose. Well, I purchased Darren Rowse’s 31 Days to Build a Better Blog program hoping to find some answers. That was at the beginning of the year and I have yet to make a dent into it. So, I’ve decided to use this blog as my canvas. At least I’ll get some posts out of it. Today’s lesson is about your elevator pitch. If you had 30 seconds to describe … [Read more...]
Mt. San Jacinto Day Hike
To help prepare for our mega-hike up Half Dome, we did the Palm Springs Tramway to Mt. San Jacinto pilgrimage on 9/5. It was a grueling day and I’d like to think we actually enjoyed it… although at times the prevailing questions were “Where the bleep is the summit?” (going up) and of course “Where the bleepity bleep is the Tramway?!?!?” (notice the multitude of question marks and exclamation points). The numbers: PS Tramway 9:10am (Depart) Wellmans Divide 11:15am Peak Junction … [Read more...]
Lessons of the Past, Present and Future
In my last post, I talked about how yoga is keeping me focused and relaxed. In the DVD, there’s this line… “as you look to your fingertips, you see the past, you see the present, you see the future, you are here in the midst of the entire universe. It’s a poetic line and keeps me centered for the day. I believe that most of us are always looking at our pasts (usually the failures or things we could have done differently) or to the future (what we want to do, or want to become, or wish we … [Read more...]
Yoga Lessons
I’ve been practicing yoga every morning for the past 21 days straight. It was surprisingly difficult and painful at times but I persevered. I’ve done yoga in the past at the local rec center so I knew what to expect. But, that was once a week and I couldn’t sustain any momentum. This is the first time I’ve ever sustained a consistent time/day and I’m quite happy with the results. What’s even more surprising is that I’ve been using a DVD – Rodney Yee’s Yoga for Beginners … [Read more...]
Renewing the Mind and Spirit in Sedona
Cathedral Rock is one of the most iconic areas in Sedona, AZ. When you see photos associated with Sedona, this is always one of them. But, Sedona is much more than the beautiful red rock cliffs and buttes that abound here. It’s a place that reinvigorates the body and calms the mind. There’s an energy here that’s hard to describe… whether it’s all in your head or an actual tangible entity, I’ll leave that for you to decide. When we were here a few weeks ago, a friend reiterated … [Read more...]
